Pre-Survey

A pre-survey is a short property visit before the final quote.

It helps confirm what can be installed, which devices are compatible, and how much local installation work is needed.

Why It Matters

  • Every property is different.
  • Some doors, AC units, wiring, water points, and Wi-Fi setups are not compatible with every device.
  • A small pre-survey can avoid ordering the wrong hardware.
  • It also helps create a quote that is realistic for the customer and installer.

How The Configurator Fits

The configurator should be used before and during the pre-survey.

At the first conversation, the local partner can use it with the customer to choose desired outcomes and create a lead. If the customer is serious, the same lead can unlock deeper questions for the property survey.

Later, partner accounts can support:

  • saved leads,
  • partner notes,
  • second-level compatibility questions,
  • photos from the property,
  • survey status,
  • final quote preparation.

What To Check

  • Wi-Fi coverage near each device location.
  • Door and lock type.
  • AC brand, remote type, and location.
  • Water leak sensor locations.
  • Optional water shutoff valve location.
  • Camera locations and cable routes, if cameras are requested.
  • Power availability.
  • Photos of all relevant points.
